Native Americans of the Great Plains believe the air is filled with both good and bad dreams. According to legend, the good dreams pass through the center hole to the sleeping person. The bad dreams are trapped in the web, where they perished in the light of dawn. Historically, dream catchers were hung in a tipi or lodge and on a baby's cradle board. This piece measures approximately 5'' round and is a unique hot coffee color which is significant because Native Americans of the Cahokia tribe referred to coffee as "Black Drink" and researchers have used this information to scientifically document that Native Americans were drinking coffee long before contact with Europeans.
